Pros
Big and stable company. Scania will stay alive even if asteroid fails No pressure, everything is calm, good work/life balance Good company for those who like to work 20+ years in the same place or have your whole family at same place One of the best employers for those who live in Södertälje, and dont want to travel to other cities
Cons
You may forget about any boost in your salary, once you're in, your salary growth most probably may be limited to 1.5k - once a year. There are no requirments how you can get higher, and even higher rate won't give you much many, A LOT of unqualified and unmotivated personal in IT. After some time you can realize that there are MANY people who see their only goal as to attend endless meetings. Most of the people are not skilled enough to solve problems in their area, thus some other people may become slighty overloaded. If you dont' want to work, it's good company for you, as most probably your collegues will take care of that, and you just can chill. If you're good in talking, you can even get a promotion. The worst part is that IT management is the most unqualified stuff. They hardly have understanding of the product their team builds (most of them doesn't even have accounts in their own system). They like to delegate decision taking to subordinates, and spend most of the time with meetings with higher management. Sometimes, I have an impression, that Scania can easily remove most (all) of IT management personal, and nothing will change.
