Pros
Nobody stays back. Need to leave with the company bus as the place is remote unless you drive. So got some work life balance. Most of the reporting is to regional HQ, so your boss does not micromanage. Most of the work is "tagged" to Malaysian standard. This is quite good for Singapore as we are considered higher in terms of work standard. Goals are usually quite manageable. Work processes is simple. Not much bureaucracy despite being MNC.
Cons
Remote location. Regional HQ is Malaysia. So follow Malaysian standard and way of working as they want to standardize. Unclear instructions from regional HQ. Small company locally and lack of local opportunities... Which leads to next point... Political environment caused by a few staff who want to hog power or hungry to get credit, at the expense of their colleagues. They will use their colleagues as stepping stones and it is usually by sabotage. Some staff trying to make certain people's time difficult in the past and once those people leave, they move into that position... Be careful of who is nice to you. Some of them are nice for bad ulterior motives. Once they gain your trust they will stab you in the back repeatedly... But there are some who are nice. Only time can tell. Usually beware of people who are too nice at the start. Gossip is rife in this company.
