Pros

I absolutely love working for this company. Great work life balance. Great career development support. Amazing benefits. The company has employee resource groups for just about every type of employee out there: LGBTQ? Yup. Asian American Pacific Islander? Yup. African American? Yup. New parents, or parents of special needs kids? Yup. What about commuting? Well, they subsidize just about every form of mass transit and on site parking (it's actually better if you use mass transit). On site fitness center, wellness rooms, starbucks, cafeteria? Yup, all that. For those on an annual incentive/bonus - it's pretty awesome as well. But what's the best thing about working here? The work I do actually helps treat people sick with some of the most pernicious diseases you can imagine. It's a great feeling working for a company that works not only on the flu and diabetes, but some of the most obscure rare diseases and cancers where there are only a few hundred people with the condition. It's rewarding, and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Cons

About the only one I can think of is the occassional 5am-8am conference call because of working with international offices overseas. The world doesn't all work on Eastern Time...

Pros

Good benefits (9% 401k match, company car, solid insurance). Huge company with many therapeutic areas you can choose from. I like my coworkers.

Cons

Employee stock purchase plan is nice in theory, but stock has treaded water for many years. A very big company with lots of big pharma metrics to meet. Pay is maybe slightly below industry average.

Pros

The company has an excellent, very collegial atmosphere. Employees are supported well and there is excellent support for most processes from numerous line functions.

Cons

Some processes as well as the governance structure can be a bit confusing. More so than other large pharma companies. But even with this. There are almost always enough people who know how to get things done.
