I was accepted the role, handed in my notice and then when the contract arrived, after id left my previous employer due to using up my remaining annual leave only to find there is no sick pay for 2 YEARS! this was never mentioned at the interview or with the job specification. Sanctuary have the audacity to cite Enhanced sick pay once you have completed qualifying service which in no way equates to no sick pay what so ever for 2 years service! This is utterly non negotiable and no room for discretion. When you are the main provider in a household this can have a devistating impact on your familys survival. Still i guess they need all the money they can to pay the chief exec £340,000 a Year!
There is absolutely no room for family friendly or flexible working. You work the hours they tell you, take a whole hour lunch break, no negotiation and should you dare to need a drs appointment or any time out of your day, forget it. Not only will you be made to feel inadequate and your commitment to your role is questioned.
