Pros

Nice building, some dedicated people, decent benefits

Cons

Awful CEO, 'positivity' above all else, sales-oriented targets even for non-sales roles, salary low for the role type, deliberately unachievable targets, laughable bonus structure, staff scared of speaking out in case they're labelled 'negative' or 'cynical'. I could list about twenty more. Be careful when reading reviews. Those 'higher up' will say that staff views are listened to, that bullying isn't tolerated and that you'll never be penalised for raising a concern. It's possible that they actually believe this - because concerns never make it past first tier management. People raise concerns with their managers, but rather than listening and passing this on, they're dismissed with 'Don't be cynical', 'Don't be negative' or something similar. Bear in mind that 'positivity' is built into most people's objectives, so when the manager who is in charge of their annual review starts calling them negative for raising a valid concern, people will back down.

Thanks for your review. Pleased to read you happy with the North Park campus in Newcastle, it's a great building, with cafes, gym, shops, cash point, lots of free parking and other facilities. The benefits are great and with the Sage Reward portal they're easy to access and amend...the discounts, health plans and childcare vouchers are particularly useful. And how exciting we are about to launch the brand new Save & Share plan globally! Our people are just the best, surrounded by dedicated colleagues who work hard and sure know how to play hard too! Bullying and unethical behaviour is not tolerated at Sage and because there's a free and confidential helpline to report this, there can be no penalty. We encourage our people to use the SafeCall number as don't wan this behaviour here. Although I personally haven't been here that long (18 months), I'm lucky to work in an office where the average tenure is about 10-15 years...which is amazing! Sage is also committed to rewarding high performers. We pay market rate and the Sales Commission schemes are un-capped, and last year our top performers earned 3 times their annual salary in commission payments alone. Our average earning is £1,023pcm in commission sales. That compares very favourably with our competitors, and is even more competitive in the North East where the majority of our sales team are based. We do listen to colleague's concerns and act upon them too. Thanks for your feedback.

Pros

was hired as remote and get to have that honored, but have been openly told no career progression because of remote status. decent pay

Cons

Leadership instability: Seven manager changes during my relatively short tenure. Unrealistic targets: A sales quota set at 1,100% growth (not a typo). Slow product development: Getting anything actioned on the product side takes far too long. Product management turnover: Three product manager changes, resulting in no meaningful deliverables in over three years. Misaligned hiring priorities: Greater emphasis on DEI optics than on hiring people positioned to drive growth. Internal vs. customer focus: More energy spent on internal events than on product enhancements. Lack of accountability (the biggest issue): No one takes ownership. Responsibility gets passed around constantly — for example, client cancellations going unprocessed because they impact someone's numbers. Managers have openly encouraged pushing the work onto someone else rather than handling it.
