Pros
After four and a half years of employment with SKF Specialty Balls, I sustained a life altering injury while on the job. Despite multiple doctors affirming the severity of the injury, the company refused to pay my workers' compensation benefits. My case was eventually escalated to the state level where, unfortunately, it was settled following litigation. Sadly, all I wanted to do was receive treatment for the injury and get back to work, but the powers that be at the time had no interest in bringing me back. My record there was squeaky clean, I performed at a higher than average level, I took all the overtime that was requested of me, and I really poured my heart and soul into that job. In the end, however, none of it mattered. I have never felt so devalued in all my life. Even if they invited me back at triple my previous salary, I would gladly decline.
Cons
They do not tolerate on the job injuries. I was not the first to be let go following litigation after an OSHA recordable accident. All OSHA recordables are essentially swept under the rug there.
