Pros

A simple "yes boss" to all requests and working conditions will be probably be good. You can take two snacks and drinks from the common area and Lunch is served every Mondays.

Cons

-Unclear feedback, constant shift in direction. -Micromanagement and constant blame shifting if a product doesn't sell even though the director approved the product. The boss will throw you under the bus if needed. -They watch your every move, track your computer and chats. Make sure you are active on the computer or it will turn off after every minute or so. -The boss will criticize and gaslight you when they don't know the answers to your questions. -Limited creative autonomy even though on the job description it states that it is an autonomous working environment. -High pressure- low stability. No clear onboarding, rules, or structured expectations. -There is mid-year review twice a year based on a highly subjective performance. Ironically, upper management does not set you up for success. -Lack of transparency and withholds information. -Need to know Mandarin to succeed. -Too many teams, no manager. No one knows what's going on. Designing for Shein felt like a breeze and it was easy.. but if your boss sees how relaxed you are, they will constantly change their minds to create more work for you. For those who want to succeed and level up in their careers, do not work for Shein. Find another company that will value you.

Pros

The company was growing pretty fast and had a startup like pace, until the tariffs happened. SHEIN’s pace slowed down a lot and the company pivoted to cost optimization

Cons

1) company’s leadership, especially the US leadership lacks vision and creates a toxic work culture by constantly belittling people in open and yelling at them. 2) the small group of top leaders almost behave like high school bullies colluding with each other 3) you’ll struggle to survive, let alone succeed, if you don’t speak Chinese. 4) Sheins compensation is significantly below industry peers 5) Daily late night calls with the China team mean a non existent work life balance. You are expected to be available at all times, including late night and weekends
