Pros
SAS still has a foundation of treating employees well and providing a good starting base pay. If given the chance to visit or work at the Campus in Cary, NC you'll be treated to great food in the cafeteria at low cost, great amenities to utilize from gym, aquatic center, and on campus health care.
Cons
Leadership is distracted by move to IPO and transition from its founder. It is working to catch up to competitors in the market that have adapted quicker or came onto the scene with a foundation in open source, Gen AI, and affordable consumption-based pricing. SAS is expensive, Kubernetes is a challenge, services have difficulty coming in on time and meeting customer needs, they are also having a very difficult time securing new clients. Leadership while caring and good natured, doesn't seem to have a market strategy and is quick to give up on staff in greenfield territories.
