Pros
The company truly does have respect for work/life balance. The reputation in that regard is completely justified. There is also the stability of working for a private company, where the executives are making decisions for the long run, not managing to the expectations of Wall Street. There is a top-down commitment to fair treatment, which gives me confidence it's not going away. And the Cary campus has really great onsite amenities including free onsite health care, a gym and pool, hair salon, day care, etc.
Cons
People never leave so it can be hard to move up. Because so many people have been here so long, it can be difficult at times for new people. The company is receptive to new ideas, but there's always a history that you might not know about as a new employee.
