      Pros

      The work - life balance is great. Coworkers are a joy to work with. On site doctor and cafes are nice to have. The development work is fun and I feel like I have a lot of control and input on what to work on.

      Cons

      Financial benefits have started to slide a bit compared to the rest of industry. SAS as a whole doesn't take open source software seriously enough as a threat to market-share.

      Pros

      Beautiful campus, benefits are amazing.

      Cons

      Too many “lifers” at SAS, lost touch with best practices. Promotions based on personal relationships versus truly being the best person for the job. HR seems to protect itself and has grown its kingdom. Out of touch management. IPO seems extremely unlikely.
