Pros
A lot of flexibility in job, hours and days off. Relaxed job environment- the kind of job that you can leave at your desk when you go home.
Cons
Very few people care, which ends up creating this ow energy, unambitious environment in the office. There is so much red tape in this organization, that it is difficult to get anything done. People are either apathetic, or are afraid to do anything for fear of being sued, thus leaving SAG AFTRA to move extremely slow to resolve any issues. Senior staff appears to bear a lot of the work burden, making it difficult to get in touch with them to work on bigger projects. Also because of this, there is no follow up from any management about projects or any assigned work. There is absolutely no accountability- which is great is all you want to do is sit in the same place and get a paycheck, but is frustrating when you actually care about improving the lives of the members. The work isn't exciting or inspiring. Senior staff i not doing anything concrete to address the low morel at work. People are so uninspired to work here, that staff doesn't even say hello to other staff in the hallways. But if you are in with upper management, then you are golden. Pay for support staff is almost below poverty wages. You are likely to be able to qualify for food stamps if you work as an assistant here.
