Pros

Great pay and benefits. Salary slightly less than I was making but Rush had better benefits.

Cons

Terrible company. I left a great paying government job to take an opportunity with Rush. After 35 days I was let go. Why? Realignment they said. Truth? They had a female employee that several of the General Managers didn't care for. They wanted to get rid of her so they eliminated two positions. Hers and mine. I thought I could make it there based on merit but this company is deeply good-old-boy armed with slick legal finesse. You might be there for 20 years--if you are in the club. Or, you could be gone at a whim. Incompetent at surprisingly high levels but hey...they do make money and are profitable with good benefits. Lack of safety and health is a big deal. All the shops I saw (6) looked like junk yard fabrication shops not something you'd expect from a Fortune 500 company. Oil and hydraulic fluids spilled with no regard. They work on trucks...proper jacking and rigging? Nope, they would use a few unidentified chains and maybe a few chunks of wood to lift and support. I'd be surprised if they don't have a fatality in the next year.

Pros

The company has been in business over 60 years. The company has multiple locations in the United States.

Cons

Lack of support and communication from different levels and different departments of management on what is expected. The lack of prioritizing or being able to reach management for direction makes things inefficient. Having many people leave in droves is indicator.
