Pros

*amazing products at discounted prices * uniforms in plant, are cleaned by a service. No need to worry about what to wear * some really engaged co-workers who seriously care about pets and their position at the company * free lunches from time to time * provide freebies, Gatorade and other items to help keep hydrated and cooled down in summer.

Cons

* High turnover in management and plant associates * Associates are not valued anymore - Just a number! * The changeover and "Mars" ways are ruining the business, reputation, and dedication of Associates. * No longer the family like atmosphere that the original company's had. * No job security, people that have been there for 15+ years are worried they could lose their job's at any time for invalid reasons * They have lost so many of the best employees to ever have worked there because of the toxic work environment * A VERY TOXIC WORK ENVIRONMENT!! * Management have favourites and treat them better than the rest of the team. Not all are treated the same! Don't you say anything to your Manager or HR because you'll be putting a target on your back! The Managers will find ways to get rid of older employees or people with health issues! They want the team to be mainly compromised of "Millennials" or "Generation Z". If you are a "Generation Y" or "Baby Boomer" forget it! You're TOO OLD to be working at Royal Canin! You will just cost them money and cause issues in the long term! * They rarely promote from within, they bring in new hires from Mars, especially for management positions! It WAS a wonderful place to work! People were so HAPPY * * High turnover in management and plant associates * Associates are not valued anymore - Just a number! Management treated everyone fairly, we got bonus (good ones too), we got profit sharing, free pet food, free corporate wear, lots of free lunches, annual Gala, Christmas luncheon/dinner with your team. Plus management would give each employee a little gift at Xmas, on birthdays the team would take you for lunch, get you a cake and more! Not anymore!!

Pros

Coworkers were very nice and helpful. Learned a lot about animals. Great PTO. Was about to take off when needed.

Cons

Loved working here at first, but then I felt like a machine. I understand KPIs and metrics, but repeating the same thing multiple times a day quickly tires you out. Having your calls listened to can feel pressuring and invasive, though I understand why it is done. Micromanaging by a new manager with no prior experience at the company made things worse. My previous manager was hands-off because he trusted his staff and their monthly reports; it wasn't necessary to hover over us. I had great KPIs and scores, but with my new manager, the goalposts were always moving, and it was never good enough. It was frustrating. I enjoyed everyone on my team, but, as always, it's the manager who overwhelms you for no reason and pushes you away. Throwing in how much the company has made during our quarterly meetings were kind of a slap in the face. Raises need to be a priority, this is a multimillion dollar company.
