Pros

Friendly, intelligent colleagues, interesting technical engineering tasks. Lots of very intersting courses to attend. Good on site catering (COSTA).

Cons

regular pressure to work unpaid extra hours to meet project deadlines, difficult to balance this with spending time with young family and having a 2 hour daily commute. Business now very much in a cost reduction phase means that pressure on already stretched specialist engineers is likely to rise over the coming 18months. Significant pressure to prepare and hand over / manage engineering and analysitcal work to 3rd party consultants. Pay and rewards likely to be vestigial over the coming months.

Thanks for sharing, sounds like you’ve had some great people around you – that kind of support makes a huge difference. It’s also encouraging to hear the company direction is coming through as a positive. Location is a personal factor, and we appreciate you sharing that as part of your overall experience.
