Pros
The people at Rolls-Royce are what makes it a special place to work. Mostly everybody has high integrity and desire to do the right thing. Rolls-Royce has huge name recognition and reputation in the world and other companies. The company has worked very hard the past several years to turn itself around after the aerospace industry was devastated by the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. There have been improvements to the work environment that have made big improvements, but work is still needed. Company focus on satisfying the customers has been very exciting. Being customer focused continues to strengthen the company.
Cons
The environment at the Indianapolis plants is little to be desired. The buildings are old, nasty, and need to be torn down and re-built. There is too much control by the "mother-ship" PLC in the UK that is prevents RRC from making it a better place to work. From the old and dirty buildings to the strangle-hold on the head count, the US side is held back. The food offered is deplorable. The different business units and groups need to work together more on technology products that will actually be useful. Upper management in Indy need to look at the best technology solutions to solve the complex problems rather than following the mandates put down by PLC.
