Pros
Good pay and benefits opportunities for technical growth and challenges.
Cons
No career path, no one cares about the employees and there is no team work. Leadship is full of inexperienced people with many years of experience and get by on their relationships and good communication skills. Only the selected few get promoted and jobs are given to others without being posted internally which leads to the wrong person for the job. If you want to stay in your position forever then Rio Tinto is for you. Forget being a woman or visible minority since chances for your success will be cut by 99%. I am the most experienced person on my team and speak over five languages yet people with limited experience in my domain keep getting moved into my group and with no experience in my domain. Nepotism and making the right friends is the succession plan at Rio Tinto.
