I cannot emphasize enough how accurate and understated the negative reviews on this platform are. The reality of working at Revolut is far worse than anything that can be conveyed in writing. I saw the reviews when I initially joined but thought it could not be that bad and joined anyway. Boy was that a terrible err of judgement. As a former employee, I witnessed firsthand the appalling treatment of middle management , junior staff and even members of senior leadership. The company’s complete disregard for its employees is shocking, and many of their practices are likely illegal. Communication is abysmal, morale is at rock bottom, and burnout is rampant. Promises of equity and share options were used as bait to lure talented individuals away from stable jobs. The reality is far from the glossy image portrayed externally or in the multiple news reports that covered the financial headlines recently. A lot of employees that helped Revolut achieve that milestone are not even able to access those shares. Employees are overworked, underpaid, and treated as disposable assets. The leadership team is completely detached from the reality of the business, making impulsive decisions that have devastating consequences for the workforce. There is a clear lack of empathy and accountability at all levels. The leadership team is fragmented and incoherent, with different departments constantly at odds. This lack of unity creates a chaotic and stressful work environment. The company’s performance review process is a farce. KPIs are irrelevant to the daily chaos employees endure. A small group of favorites consistently game the system, while the rest of the staff is left to pick up the pieces. Employees are discouraged from providing feedback, fearing retaliation. There is a culture of fear and mistrust, where those who speak up are often targeted and forced out. Quite a few arrogant bullies throwing their weight about spoiling things for those accustomed to a more traditional employment culture. The company’s claims of a flexible work environment are misleading. While some employees may work remotely, many are expected to be chained to their desks for excessive hours. There is a clear lack of investment in employee well-being and development. Pace of roll-out and expansion is priority, any other thing is not given a second thought. Lot’s of lip service and glossing around over things. I implore anyone considering a role at Revolut to read these reviews carefully. The experiences shared here are not isolated incidents, but rather a systemic problem. Your mental health is not worth the stress and turmoil this company will undoubtedly inflict upon you. I urge the company to address the serious issues raised by its employees. Ignoring these problems will only lead to further damage to the company’s reputation and continued loss of talent. It’s important that potential employees have access to honest feedback. Leaving this company was one of the best decisions I've made. It was a hard decision as it’s created a sudden hard to explain direction in my CV as expected. However, my life has improved dramatically since then. I would never return, even for a significant salary increase or access to shares. I genuinely hope this review invokes positive change for the employees trapped there unable to get out. Now we know why they are called shipmates, they are lost at sea with no way home. At the mercy of the storm that is the dark brutal workplace that is Revolut. Always defensive, justifying their culture and never actually listening to what is being said. Ironically the response to this message will be exactly that.
