Pros

I read everything on Glassdoor and thought I'll give it a try anyways since it's fully remote and a cool logo. REGRETTED IT within 6 weeks but stuck it out until the end of my trial period to see if it gets better. It got worse. All the bad stuff I read here, I saw it happen. And much more. You see how any of the good reviews are short and written after a week or two before the cray-cray hits the fan. If someone takes time to rant for a two page essay with a lot of details, it is not made up. Ain't nobody got that kind of energy to deter others unless they've been burned by this mistake already.

COMPENSATION - Low base salary - Unreasonable, ever-changing targets designed to work you to the extreme without reaching the bonus levels - Maybe 1 out of 10 people reach their target per quarter and only because they took no holidays and got super lucky with a big deal they were working on during the previous quarters or "inherited" a good deal from someone who left before closing it - Only minimal benefits - Managers are difficult with PTO booking DEALS - Product is low price so it's hard to find companies that would generate a big deal - Product doesn't fit all the markets, it is designed to be attractive and functional in the UK and maybe in France, but the rest of the European markets are stuck waiting for integrations and features - Small companies don't really need it or can use the free functions -> don't generate much sales towards your target and bonus - Bigger companies require a smooth-functioning product and an easy, logical and professional onboarding experience, plus intergrations with their other tools -> we lose the deals or sign them up and then they're unhappy with it - All deals no matter their size take months to close due to our own difficult onboarding process - After all that effort, the deal might fall through due to internal purposes which will not be disclosed to the AE so we cannot even learn why this potential client was not eligable - Many deals are lost due to the onboarding process, customers give up and take their money elsewhere PROCESSES - Not many tools in use, EVERYTHING is manual - Literally everything is up to you to find on google, next to zero lead generation or book of accounts to reach out to - Use of Salesforce is ridiculous, nothing is organized or under control, answer to everything is "create a duplicate" - "AE" role is 95% SDR/BDR tasks - Actually you are doing several roles alone: marketing (outside the UK there is no marketing, even website is not translated, nobody knows Revolut outside the UK and little bit in France), inbound BDR, outbound BDR, AE, onboarding, customer success, account management... MANAGEMENT - Most managers are quite young and not experienced, trained or good fits to be a manager or to train/teach/lead/motivate people, they were promoted due to their (lucky) individual results, not due to showing management potential - Management is super stressed and desperately pushing their teams toward burn out to save themselves - C-levels are 30yo bros acting on impulse and arrogance - For example, 28yo CFO left due to some drama, was "temporarily" replaced by a 29yo who has no relevant experience and last I heard, there was no plan to hire a new, proper CFO (CEO felt we don't need one - this is funny since all of our B2B customers are CFOs and we expect them to trust a BANK who doesn't believe in having CFOs to handle their company's funds) CAREER - Trial period is longer than what's usual in the location, for example in France it's normally 4 months but at Revolut it's 6 months - Everyone is super stressed and desperate for results, which means everyone is grinding for their own target and don't have time to help, collaborate or train anyone - You are on your own, the training only focuses on UK specifics and general info but not enough about how to get started - As said before, targets are very difficult to reach and if you don't, you're out in the end of the trial period (at least 50% don't pass it) - It is a known fact that they hire 2-3x more people than how many they expect to keep after the trial period - If you have two bad quarters in a row, you're fired - If by some miracle you have a couple of good quarters in a row, you get a little salary increase and a big target increase - Targets increase for everyone every quarter - People who are not fired, leave soon anyways because they're so unhappy - Nobody has any know-how since everyone is new - Nobody cares because everyone is burned out and looking for a new job NO MATTER WHY YOU CONSIDER JOINING, DO NOT DO IT! I thought I went in knowing that it's gonna be crazy but I'll "just see what happens" and test the 6 months. In the end of that, I was so burned out and depressed that it took me months to feel like myself again. I'm still on a recovery "sabbatical" thanks to my unemployment aid which ironically is more than what I earned at Revolut... It took me months to be able to come write this because I had to block all the memories for a good while to not get triggered and pissed off again. SERIOUSLY, do not do this to yourself. Even if there is a one in a million chance that you could make it here, why risk it when you can go in another company where people are feeling well and respected by management and paid good salaries.

Pros

+ Everyone knows Revolut - easier conversations. + Product is top tier. + Good benefits. + Good on your resume.

Cons

- Poor sales leadership - for a company so successful, very shocked at the low calibre of talent in senior sales roles. But product is so strong and they are not measured on employee retention so impossible for them to fail. - Tech stack minimal. - Large elements of favouritism.
