Pros

Red Hat has solid benefits and good PTO. This is manager specific but there is visa sponsorship, global mobility, and flex time.

Cons

There are some good parts about Red Hat. But those good parts do not make it worth what they take from you. Overtime every week, working weekends, into the nights, and during holidays: these are all the norm. And it isn't because it is critical. Leadership focuses on the optics of delivering faster regardless on if the faster delivery is needed or even asked for by the customer. I've had multiple coworkers have stress related health episodes over the past year. And the same day, leaders of those associates have those on the same team working until 10 PM that night for a non-critical item. VPs will fly people in at a moments notice during snowstorms and people sit around waiting for attendees who never show up. This company does not care about employees. It would rather put them in the ground than miss a delivery date. After all, a life is cheaper than taking a hit from shareholders.

- Good team culture and work-life balance if you have the right management chain - Remote work if you're not close to an office - Leadership transparency and willingness to hear feedback

Cons

- Constant re-orgs without strategy are destabilizing - Manager pool is very mixed in terms of experience and skill - Poor role definition can lead to surprises at quarterly review time - Layoffs/reductions have had a chilling effect - Lower salaries compared to competitors
