Pros
Training is great. The best of the best of the company share their knowledge and tricks that rendered them successful. If you do well you will be recognized. If you are willing to work 12 hour days, you might make a decent amount of money pending on your position and which account you are working on, but it's really not worth it at the end as you can work less hours and make more money afterwards.
Cons
You have to watch your back as jealousy and insecure 'older' (less talented) employees are rampant and toxic. I lost count of how many people tried to bring me down as I did extremely well from the getgo without any experience. To the point where after my departure, I am hearing from my client, that an employee is walking around their offices taking credit from my work (lucky for me my clients and candidates alert me and are not stupid or impressed by this behavior). Everyone is out for themselves and many are conniving and 2-faced and will step over others to make it to the top. They will promote people based on politics and not merit who don't know what they are doing. The company has been focusing so much on numbers and not on quality they are losing credibility in the Montreal market. They are on the verge of losing major clients because they are incapable of hiring the right people, and keeping them. The clients are fed up with dealing with a new account manager every month. Even if you work long hours and put in your best, it's rarely appreciated. It made no sense to work hard and not get results because of this. Currently I'm working with many of the same clients, and getting awesome results. As of late, there has been much intense micro-management that employees are feeling baby-sat. Employees are generally not happy and looking elsewhere. Management don't realize that if they intend to retain people they cannot belittle them, and then promote them but force them to wait 7 months for their new compensation plan. Explaining to a manager that it makes no sense to do a job for over half a year without knowing what your salary, bonus and targets are and hearing as a response 'That's the way Randstad is and I have to wait 2 more months until I get mine' is a typical response from their 'leaders' who don't provide any constructive feedback on things that obviously need to be improved on. I referred a friend to the company and she asked about work-life balance which turned off management who saw that as a red flag. She's currently at the competition and is doing extremely well.
