Pros

The company's values would be lovely if they were actually happening. The office space is nice. We have good benefits.

Cons

Since I joined the company less than 2 years ago I have had 4 different leaders. I understand that things change but it feels like we are pawns and not real people. The leaders are immature and hidden away, including the senior leadership who comes to "visit" and is never in a values meeting which is only 0 or 1 times a week. Why come out here at all if you will not talk to us?? This is the example set for everyone under them. The leaders only want to chat and email with you not talk to you in person. We have a couple new leaders that have potential but could burn out like all the ones before them have. Remote associates are prioritized and promoted. They have not been having luck hiring and we lose more people than we bring on. There are long wait times all day long and we are being pressured to answer the calls more quickly but not sacrifice our call quality. Now our hours are being reduced. This will make things worse for our hold times. It will also place financial burden on my family. I will need to look for a second job or a new job. This job is very stressful and degrading. It is a reflection of the [lack of] leadership.

Pros

One of the strongest aspects of this role is the autonomy. I’m trusted to make decisions that genuinely support the customer experience without constant approval from leadership. If I believe an exchange plus a $250 gift card is the right solution to preserve a relationship, I’m empowered to do that. That level of trust creates confidence and allows us to move quickly when issues arise. Leadership is accessible when needed, especially in escalated situations. I’ve never felt left alone to manage something beyond my scope. There is also regular voluntary overtime available, which is a plus for those looking to increase their hours. For someone transitioning from another industry, the environment feels more structured and brand-focused, which has been refreshing

Cons

The clientele can be challenging. Some customers assume that spending thousands of dollars entitles them to treat frontline employees disrespectfully, even when those employees had no involvement in the original issue. It can also be frustrating to hold a boundary with a customer, only to see it reversed after escalation. While I understand the desire to preserve relationships, it can unintentionally undermine employee confidence and consistency in standards. Because RH carries so many collections and product variations, the learning curve is steep. Customers often expect immediate, detailed product knowledge, which takes time to develop.
