Pros
i am super grateful to rac and everything they have done for me. since joining rac my life has changed for the better. the best thing about working for rac is all the strange and unique scenarios you can find yourself in, from a male stripped with velcro trousers locked out of his car after a hen doo, to a car that wont start after lowering their boat on a slipway with the tide coming in. im extremely loyal to rac and wont leave with out a very good reason
Cons
the bad points are purely political, there is virtually no communication from senior management and as a patrol of 9 years i still dont really have any clue of how the rac systems work or any changes to customer facing applications. customers will ask me questions i dont have the answers to. there is progression in rac but its very rare and volatile. ive had more managers than hot dinners. to move up you have to give everything and ive seen the most orange loyal people progress just to be met with redundancy the following year, i once wanted to progress but have now accepted that it wont ever happen and im safer staying as a patrol.
