Lots of lip service about staff welfare, although many companies nowadays are like this to be fair. Little in the way of career progression unless your face fits. Some managers definitely have 'favourites' and some staff are excluded on a personal level; didn't effect me, just something I've observed. As an employee you have to be very mindful of seeking advice or help outside of your team within the organisation, as your manager will take it as a personal afront. The only company I've ever worked at whereby management don't like you using your own initiative. I and some ex colleagues struggled with this concept. Most of the people are friendly enough; really depends on what office you are based at I believe. I spent some odd days at other offices and the staff seemed very happy, motivated and driven.
