Pros
Honors Hours and Flexibility. Management is nice and understanding to some degree. Tries to promote charities, Functions, and fundraisers. Other employee's are normally nice. Majority of the customers are nice as long as you provide good customer service. Very Active. Lenient with cell phones and tattoos. up to a .25 cent raise every 6 months. Not bad for making friends.
Cons
You are blocking all night if you close at 10pm regardless of scheduale. Don't be surprised if you are staying late. It is normal here. The store is cheap and will abuse you to do tasks that are not in your job line just for them to save a nickle on hiring a professional. The job load is a lot and you will be working hard for your paycheck. It is normal for someone to call out sick to making the job load bigger. Front End Coordinator usually fails to keep accountability of workers and work. Many bad workers get away with doing nothing. It is always busy and the stress is high with low morale in the front. Publix fails to keep promises once employment fulfills goals. Your age and past will not get any respect in the front. You will be consider a child to your peers and colleagues. Customers look down on you despite your customer service. Sometimes they don't even acknowledge your presence. Management has no idea or does not care in improving morale of workers. Publix will apparently hire any one who have attitude problems and lack of interest to work. A lot of the employees have low morale making it difficult to use teamwork. Publix team leader lacks any leadership and continues to slave drive employee's out of their 10 mins breaks. Publix leaders lack "leading by example". You are not allowed to wear any other jackets or sweaters unless it is publix brand. It is highly favoritism in employee of the month, hours, and promotions. Schedule is ridiculous concerning breaks. (Ex. 7am - 3pm with break being 1-2pm.) They won't fire bad employee's unless they do something really bad.
