Pros
When I started 20 years ago it was a great place to work! You could see the values of the Sisters of St. Joseph daily. It was great when one of the sisters came by the office. The employees were appreciated and there were fun activities we did for the employees to thank them for the hard work we put in.
Cons
As time went on and management changed the values of the organization weren't as important as when I started. It was even told to me that the values didn't pertain to the worker bees, only management. Once St. Joseph "merged" (was taken over) by Providence Health Care everything started going down to tubes. Employee no longer mattered, deadlines were changed and they start laying people off. More people were laid off from California, Southern California than any of the Providence employees. They are now in the process of moving many functions (Accounting and Accounts Payable) out of the country to save money but the CEO got a huge raise. I'm so grateful that they laid me off a couple of years ago, it was a blessing for me.
