Pros
Very stable and very logical. There is a lot of focus on the mission which is good but ultimately, it's all about business at Providence. This is good since decisions are very logical and methodical. Providence also implements very well. Right now they are still growing up from being a Portland HMO and figuring out what they want to be
Cons
Since the company is still trying to grow up from being a Portland HMO, they are not realistic about new endeavors and resourcing them. My main complaint is the lack of opportunity and movement. Since they are lean, they really can't train anyone on a new position. It's a very boomer culture where the expectation is that everyone stays at their job for 10 years and they seem shocked when someone wants new opportunity after being there for 4 years.
