Going downhill fast - Principal Engineer Pratt & Whitney Employee Review

Pros

The company makes a cool product

Cons

The company has recently mandated unpaid overtime for an indeterminate amount of time for salaried engineers, with no actual reason provided as to why. Pay has not come even close to keeping pace with inflation. Management is unable to even acknowledge real concerns of bureaucracy, terrible digital infrastructure. The only focus is attracting new talent, there is no attempt made to reward existing employees. The company makes a song and dance of asking employees for input, but makes no attempt to correct any issues. Infrastructure is embarrassing, onsite buildings are falling apart.

Pros

Decent pay and good benefits.

Cons

Personnel reporting to me had apparently looked up my political affiliation (which I had never mentioned) and took exception to it by sabotaging work that I had supervised. This was well before 2022 - actually 2015-2016 (2022 is earliest review date I could select). I was just now remembering it. This polarized political posture was a function of the plant being near Harrisburg, PA which, at least then, was a somewhat "redneckish" area. I have never discussed my politics at work, so it seemed absurd of them to look up my party affiliation and take issue with it.
