Engaged Employer

Part of the ELMT-APAC in Singapore. I’m glad I took the chance to leave the organization to explore other options. - CIPT Engineer Pratt & Whitney Employee Review

Pros

- Chances to look and work on civil aerospace engines. - Group insurance and healthcare benefits provided for, and decent. - Bonus is relatively good, average 4 months. - Plenty of chances for cross functional work, which exposes me to different culture.

Cons

- Management does not make an effort to listen. When they eventually do, it is because of an abysmal quarterly survey rating. - Management unwilling to spend time or money to invest in education or courses for the team. - Lack of clarity and direction for team. - Often required to work night to chase tasks or attend unnecessary meetings. - Management inflexible in terms on work on-site policy during covid season. All employees were required to be back in office, even though we have the capacity to work from home. On top of that, management is often not in office. - A lot of workplace clique happening in a very small department.

Pros

Decent pay and good benefits.

Cons

Personnel reporting to me had apparently looked up my political affiliation (which I had never mentioned) and took exception to it by sabotaging work that I had supervised. This was well before 2022 - actually 2015-2016 (2022 is earliest review date I could select). I was just now remembering it. This polarized political posture was a function of the plant being near Harrisburg, PA which, at least then, was a somewhat "redneckish" area. I have never discussed my politics at work, so it seemed absurd of them to look up my party affiliation and take issue with it.
