PPD went downhill after the acquisition. It is not anymore the company I knew. - Clinical Team Manager PPD Employee Review

Pros

Great people to work with, good continuous training plan which you begin to value after quitting.

Cons

Company went downhill after acquisition by Thermo Fisher, at least this feels like it in EMEA: employees are less valued now and used as a work horses which can be used, squeezed like a lemon and then thrown away. Time which is bargained with the Sponsors is not sufficient to complete tasks so employees have to overwork. The most affected position is Remote Site Monitor who, due to company's desire to be more competitive, have to work their heads off in multiple-multiple trials with abundance of sites. Company took some inhuman decisions in 2022 dictated by global politics: lots of layoffs etc. Corporate slogans regarding all-inclusiveness, diversity and equal opportunities are just words not supported by deeds.

Pros

Provided health insurance. Good coworkers Good exposure to team at client site If you have a good technical lead, the job can be great!

Cons

You have 2 bosses (Technical lead from Client Site) and your PPD boss. PPD Boss does not know what is going on If you have a bad technical lead, your life can be miserable. Pay is low No protection from abusive technical lead (coworkers on same team can have a drastically different experience)
