      Pros

      - total comp above average - very smart people - structured career plan

      Cons

      - it can be very bureaucratic, depending on the sector you work in - DS work usually consists of A/B testing and standard predictive models. Nothing very exciting (with a few exceptions) - Most of the stack is mostly useless outside of Nubank

      Lots of exciting bets being made, many growth opportunities, very smart people who also know how to have work life balance

      Cons

      Priorities shift a lot which can be frustrating, but that's part of the game of fintech (very fast moving)

      High level of competence of colleagues You're never the most experienced or highest skilled person in your team Constantly learning and career growing Freedom to explore new technologies Very data-oriented Very technical oriented managers Clojure shop Well-tested, well crafted, always improving code solutions

      Cons

      Executive level decisions sometimes are big-bang and not gradual Promotion strategy isn't based on performance but on the existence of an open role
