Pros
good projects, opportunity to work in different technology domains across geographies. Relaxed work culture. Deadlines are not too stringent. Pay and employment benefits are outstanding. Ideal company to retire from. If you want to work the company allows you to do, else you can while away in the cafeteria.
Cons
80% of people who are hired are known/connected/classmates of the top-management. sub-par top management who are being paid atleast 100 pc more than the going market rate (w.r.t skills and experience). All decisions made from the HQ in Yokohama. Regional teams have little say. Quirks of the Japanese Culture: Hard to decide if the person means a Yes or No. Language barrier. Hard time following HQ guys in discussions.
