Pros
Flexible schedule, excellent benefits, caring managers and leadership, total focus is on making a difference in the lives of the students they serve. If you are willing to work and commit 100%, opportunities for advancement are possible. Professional growth is encouraged, work life balance is actually possible, and employees are given freedom to offer creative suggestions for process improvement.
Cons
Not really a con, but you are expected to work hard and be committed to the mission. There are very busy times of year that you better be prepared to work extra hours. There are definite expectations to work hard and sometimes it means pitching in to help others that need help even if it's not part of your job. Compensation is competitive but it is a non-profit organization so not going to compete with for profit industry.
