      Pros

      MSI is a great place to work. The pay and benefits are very good, but the best part is the people here. From the VP level and down, these are some of the most genuine and thoughtful people I have ever worked with. Five years ago I had no idea what it would be like to work in the corporate world, especially for an industry leading company like MSI. Now I know that I made the right decision. I'm proud to be able to help others use our technology to make their communities safer.

      Cons

      I'm not sure that I would can them "cons". We are a publicly traded company, so sometimes things change with the market. There have been a couple of times when things like 401K match were suspended for short periods of time. MSI always seems to make things right when the market recovers, and I'm thankful for that (since they gifted me shares of stock a few years ago).

      Great work environment and great people. Flexibility to make your own decisions and steer the organization the way you see fit.

      Constantly connected to the job, even after hours. Hard to disconnect.

      Pros

      I highly value the autonomy I am given to manage my own workload, and I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with several of my talented colleagues.

      Cons

      That independence comes at a cost. The company is incredibly disorganized and siloed. Management will force lateral moves on you without asking; I've ended up balancing four different roles with absolutely no pay increase. Requests for fair compensation compared to the peers I trained were completely ignored. Territories change constantly, but zero training is provided. You are essentially left entirely on your own to figure it out.
