Pros
Wonderful coworkers and quality products.
Cons
They opened the St. Catharines, Ontario store and then closed it immediately after a month. They gave us no advice or consideration through out their bankruptcy and hired and opened multiple stores during their proceedings in Ontario. I was told the store wouldn't be closing from management despite the legal proceedings and then was informed a month later liquidation would begin the day we were told we would be jobless. No tact, and followed the Target mentality of wide spread openings only to close 18 plus stores and have 200 people jobless across the country. They offered us nothing, no severance and only the possibility of a position if they one day opened another store in the area. They only offered anyone under their 3 month probationary period a weeks severance pay if you stayed to the end of the liquidation. Where as myself who had just met my 3 months was given no incentive to stay until their closing date, this was strategically so they did not have to pay us anything additionally despite being a full time employee. They are terribly mismanaged because half their staff left during the bankruptcy including in their warehouse. Leaving stores starving for staff. It became a persistent tug of war between Miniso and the liquidation company as well in regard to regular communication.
