Pros

Potential to move up quickly if you are willing to travel.

Cons

with a BA, they tell you at the interview that you need a degree for this job. But you don't. When it boils down to it the only thing you are compensated for having a degree is $1 per hour. 1$ per hour more in wage than other managers that did not go to college to pay for the $60,000 and four years you spent in school. To receive that $1, you have to sign a contract that says you are willing to relocate. They created the "MT" (manager training) program to take advantage of college grads to open up new stores for them in little hick towns in the midwest. They want you to move to the middle of nowhere for them and have it in policy that your should not hang out with people from Menards outside of work. Bonuses are based on the profits of a store, and they can move you from one store to another without notice. This means you can miss out on thousands of dollars if you receive a phone call one day telling you that you have to move...this is just one of many issues I had with the company, but I don't have time to go on for hours. I have to go look for a professional job that takes care of their employees.
