Pros
- 40% off - training when I started was in person and extremely valuable - the focus on the service model
Cons
Honestly there isn’t enough bullet points to explain this. - bullying from all upper management - the amount of interviews you go through, you would think you were applying for a huge role in a public service and or medical based job. But forget trying to add to your Mecca resume. Unless you want to subscribe to their cult like mentality. - extreme pressure to ensure targets at met - the insanely strict uniform, which has since changed…but Is still very strict for a modern world. Eg; no spaghetti straps, no sleeveless tops, if socks are visible, they have to be black. Only wearing hair accessories sold at Mecca that are in stock. God forbid a hair tie goes out of stock by the time your next shift rolls around. - worked to the bone and the pay rate is ridiculous. - speaking of pay, as experience being in management, you do not get compensated well. Think insane amount of money for one store and you’re getting 53k a year? And if you don’t make target, well bad luck you’re not gonna get any bonus whatsoever. - they used to be generous with the gratis and this has since slowed to such a state where I don’t think I can recall the last time someone mentioned receiving gratis.
