Pros

Important, meaningful mission. Great bonding experience with your coworker peers. Long history, strong reputation in the city, and firm financial footing. Fun perks like free lunch.

Cons

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. In Martha’s Table’s case, the smoke is the high turnover rate and short tenure of many staff members (mentioned by other reviewers). If you want respect from the top, a voice in decision-making, or directions that don’t change seemingly at random, Martha’s Table is not the place for you. If you are job hunting, look elsewhere. You won’t drain this swamp; the swamp will drain you. Senior leaders know there’s a problem, but waste time and money on superficial responses rather than truly confronting the poor management and toxic environment that are fanning the flames of the fire. The board has done nothing to address the problems. Time and money wasted by constantly hiring and (poorly) orienting new staff means less resources can be used for developing and executing mission-driven programs, directly damaging the effectiveness of the organization and its work in the community. Eventually, the problems will become more public, harming the organization’s reputation (and ability to build community partnerships, get good press, raise money, and hire talented staff).

Pros

Martha's Table is such an amazing place to work. The work environment is great and the organization's ability to adapt to the new times that we are in is commendable.

Cons

There are no cons. If you aren't passionate about impacting the lives of others, this is not the place for you.

Pros

The benefits package is good, as well as the responsible unlimited PTO plan.

Cons

If you are looking to continue your growth in an encouraging and emotionally intelligent work place, do not expect that when accepting a position with Martha's Table. Majority of the executive and managerial staff here have clearly experienced corporate burnout in previous roles and applied the negative parts of their corporate learnings into the organizations work culture. Also, the salary ranges are below average for most of their positions however the job expectation list is above average.
