Pros

The few are, flexible hours for part timers, and superb health and benefits for full timers, opportunuty to grow if you dedicate and work hard.

Cons

For cons i could write a 1000 pages, but the most relevant its the fact that the home office executives of this company don't have a clue what it is to work in a store. They have a never ending always changing manual of policies and procedures that are far far away from the reality of work in a store. They really force managers to work over 50 hrs per week and even more during hollydays and always get paid for 40 hrs.The stores never get enough payrroll to run bussines like the manual says. You get huge amount of freigt all mix together that needs to be sort, procesed and presented to the selling floor in 24 hours, all this with 3 or 5 employees, most times less than that. Never have enough cashiers to have a check out fast and accurate, and due to this you have to use your hanfull of merchandise associates to ring registers and in the meantime the merchandise get trashed by the customers and sitting in the receiving. Very frustrating, and on top of this, the temperature in the stores is so hot and humid that even if customers complaint, the home office dont care. Then if sales are down they cut your payrroll even more instead of invest in labor. This is why i calling them bloodsuckers. All profits to executives in home office while slavery is working hard for pennies. Shame that nobody come up with a solution or UNION to end this. I wonder if the CEO will read this and all the other reviews of the company and realize how wrong they are.

Pros

The work is the same every day (at least for janitors), and you don't have many surprises. In my experience, there is a lot of leeway for who does what as long as it gets done. I don't personally mind helping out in all departments after I am done cleaning. Current store manager (not asms) is very nice and understanding.

Cons

The management (Assistant managers in my experience) is at each other's throats to be the best out there and suck up to the district manager. The pressure to coerce customers into buying into the TJX card is a bit much. It all trickles down to the front end, which then causes everyone to be unhappy. Compensation is low and raises are based on company loyalty first, then your efficiency.
