Pros
Depending on the project, you will receive and good work life balance. Interesting ideas and projects related to space and satellite imagery. Friendly teammates. Accured flex time for any overtime worked. Good place to start career.
Cons
Tech stack is at least 5 to 10 years behind current market trends. The "required" high security context of the work delays design decisions. Which results in using the "tried and true" method. Lots of legacy code that is very difficult to maintain. Everything is done the cheapest way possible. From limiting developer resources to the point of blocking engineering work to reusing old solutions. Sr staff are not always friendly and shoot down new ideas claiming "it is not the way of the company". "My way or the high way" messages coming from leadership team, with management refusing to advocate for the engineering staff. Every project and team I've encountered is short staffed and struggling to meet their goals. Leadership rather hire junior engineers at a cheaper cost over properly paying their current employees.
