Pros
A nice company to work for overall. Leadership has improved noticeably in recent times. Things were starting to feel a bit stale, but there’s been a significant outflow of long-tenured employees alongside an influx of new people, which has shaken things up in a positive way.
Cons
Luno sits in a slightly awkward middle ground - it’s not a startup anymore, but it’s not a large corporate either (and not a scaleup either). Teams are relatively lean, yet there’s still enough process to slow things down. As a result, we have too much bureaucracy for our size, but not enough resources to execute quickly, which can make the company feel more corporate than its stage would suggest. That said, things have definitely improved. Delivery speed has picked up noticeably over the last 6–12 months and there’s been a positive shift in momentum. We’re still not moving as fast as I’d like, but we’re heading in the right direction.
