You can be unlucky and end up in a team with zero teamwork and zero team leadership and no matter if you want to work there and no matter how much work you did, no one will listen. Everything needs to pass team leader so if you go to their higher ups, they won't move a finger. Sadly a not of unfairness as some teams work as dogs and other employees are being bored with nothing at hand. Working hard is not really a thing, just work smart.
