Pros

Working as a Interior Designer for Laura Ashley is a love/hate role. There is no middle ground. The Pros - You are field based so you have a sense of freedom. It feels like you are running your own business - meeting clients everyday, putting your own stamp on your designs, and making your clients happy. If this was the role, it would be perfect. Company Car. 25 days holiday. Health Insurance. The people working in the stores are genuinely lovely and very supportive.

Cons

On the flip side. It is HARD WORK! terrible pay and can be lonely. You will be targeted to make £500,000 PA which is broken down monthly. These targets are set unrealistically high and even if there is a 50% sale running in store, your targets will be unchanged. If you do not hit targets pay is minimum wage which is heartbreaking for how much work you have to put in and can really affect you motivation. There is not enough hours in the working day to keep on top of workload and to manage the never ending emails and phone calls from clients because all of your focus will go on getting your targets by any means possible - working on the shop floor. Unfortunately it is a company that see's you as a money maker rather than a talented designer with exceptional product knowledge. You need to be tough to survive.
