Pros

It all comes down to which team you work in - if a good team & group of partners / consultants can be a good first step into the search world

Cons

For a public company in a people business the culture is disorganised. Finance runs the place and management generally takes the "cats in a sack" approach - maintain an ever-open mandate to hire new consultants by throwing money at them, layer them on existing teams and see who survives. Much press about "bursting through the $1 billion barrier" - this is the result of acquiring and growing HR consulting services, the search business is flat or shrinking in many parts of the world. CEO lacks authenticity and is basically a CFO who has a marketing team around him working around the clock to project him as a CEO.

Pros

I am a consultant through a firm acquired by Korn Ferry and have had a great experience with both the firm (Salo) and with Korn Ferry as a parent company. Great to have benefits and PTO as a consultant and great training and resources available - good communication as well!

Cons

Transitional period during acquisition had a few bumps but nothing major and all ironed out as more time has gone on.

Pros

Work from home gives flexibility, time off is good.

Cons

No raises ever, bonuses are not a motivator nor an indicator of the work you do. No one seems to know why you receive the bonus you do, it is just from a spreadsheet handed to your direct manager who apparently has no influence in the decision. Raises never happen and no one can answer if they are coming or not—you just never get one.
