This is a good place to work if you like staid, stodgy, and conservative work cultures. - Anonymous employee KPMG Employee Review

Pros

KPMG has good name recognition in Singapore and globally, so it is not bad to have on your resume. Other employers have a lot of familiarity with the Big 4 firms.

Cons

The business environment in Singapore is modernizing. The management of KPMG recognizes this, but KPMG is very slow to react. We say we want to provide excellent client service, but we're too conservative to give advice that is much help, and our various departments cannot work together because each partner is too selfish to sacrifice fees by working with other partners.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
