Pros

People. JCI has some of the nicest people working for them. Flex-time to work around family issues

Cons

Good talent often goes unrecognized because the company makes it hard for management to promote. Who you work for affects your advancement. Upper management is Tyco or imported from the outside. They do not understand the JCI product line and it shows. Negotiate a good opening salary as your annual raises will be small (e.g., 2-3% even in high inflation). Employee morale is low so for two years we have been given surveys that continue to show that US morale is low. The fix is to force employees into more training and meetings, parties and activities that are supposed to be fun. None fixes the fundamental issue of salary, work environment and assignments.
