Pros
- The associates in the front desk department are a strong team. Everyone works to support one another and help provide resources to resolve different guest issues. - Because the resort is so large, there is always something to learn and stay busy with. - Managers are supportive in helping the associates learn in areas they want to grow and develop in. - Typically, there is opportunity to make commission in this position. Which can greatly affect your paycheck.
Cons
- The resort is huge, so it takes a long time to become familiar with the different associates/departments to reach out to regarding different issues. - Hours are all over the place, which makes it difficult to have a good balance between work and social life. - Ever since the pandemic, the front desk cannot make commission off of up selling suites or view types. This was a significant component of pay. - The front desk is currently short staffed during some shifts; so, it can feel overwhelming at times talking to guests for long periods of time without a break.
