Pros

• Allowed to do great work: Given goals, allowed to control projects to achieve success • Given latitude and budget to succeed, able to do great work that drove results • Transparent reporting of revenues, margins, and EBITA showed direct correlation between work / efforts and business / brand growth • Prior to JBS, C-Level Management was "hands off" as long as you were successful • High visibility position within industry • Worked at a time when Swift & Company desired moving from commodity seller to brand-driven provider: Exciting time in company's history

Cons

• Since JBS acquisition, compensation has been cut dramatically • Culture shifted dramatically under JBS, some good, some bad, much micro-management • Too much "me too" work today • Most Marketing positions in the industry were former "meat people" ... coming in as a Brand & Marketing Professional I often felt like a fish in a fish bowl.
