Informatica is a good company but beware inside sales - Inside Sales Informatica Employee Review

Pros

Great technology, good benefits, great culture, free snacks & drinks.

Cons

No unity across the company, each sales team runs completely different, long sales cycles, rare buy-in from field reps and field sales upper management, low pay compared to industry. Inside sales teams will report up to a field sales team, and they haven't figured out how to work together. Constant issues with account ownership and getting credit for deals. I would say nearly every position at Informatica is better than their inside sales team. Avoid at all costs!

Our employees are our number one priority, so we'd like to address some of your specific concerns: * Sales Cycles - Sales cycles can vary, depending on the type of product that is being sold. We do have longer sales cycles for a number of pour products at Informatica, but within Inside Sales specifically, we have seen sales cycles within 30 days. * Account Ownership - For account ownership, we implemented a named account model across all sales organizations in North America where every account has an individual responsible from a prospecting point of view to avoid any duplication of efforts. * Low Pay - Based on our market studies from our Compensation Team, we feel that we offer a salary that is higher than the norm for the Inside Sales role compared to our competitors. * Issues with Field Sales - To better align focus for Inside Sales, going into FY19 we defined specific product focus areas/opportunities that align well for Inside Sales to run vs the field sales organization. The goal of this was to avoid any duplication of efforts and allow Inside Sales to focus on the areas where we fit best. This would also play into the average sales cycle We value and consider all feedback as having your feedback will help us continue to evaluate and improve life at Informatica for all employees.
