Pros

Thought a lot over the past few years on how I'd like to be investing my time/life, and Indigo has been a great way for me to fulfill that need. At the most practical level, it's a business trying to strategically align with the wave of investment in ESGs, traceability, sustainability, etc. but over the years I've learned that this also aligns with the various producers, buyers, agribusinesses, and brands who are also making those investments. More specific to what the technology culture looks like: - Surprisingly (for how nascent the org is) mature product process, great collaboration of product, design, and engineering throughout the entire process. - Leadership creates space for teams to discover the right problems to tackle, concept solutions, and execute in the best way they see fit (bottoms up, problem focused) - Acknowledges strategic missteps, and pivots based on customer learnings and feedback - Paths to progression is something leadership is actively addressing

Cons

- I'm sure this is said about every startup (Indigo is no different) - can be some ambiguity in the day-to-day, and change is always possible (although leadership recognizes the tradeoffs) - Change is incremental and can take a while to see major impacts. - Not all projects are directly "sticking your hands in dirt and saving the planet" - our customers have been in the business for generations and our first priority is solving their problems, not necessarily pushing "sustainability". We're all supporting that mission, but some roles/teams/projects are further from that than others.

Pros

Decent base salaries. Due to the company's structure and goal shifting, you get experience in a lot of different aspects of the company. Past non-negotiable goal milestones, there is some flexibility, you have the opportunity and freedom to make the job your own. Good work-life balance, and commendable company goals around sustainable ag etc. made working here stand out.

Cons

Raises and bonuses not given for several years due to company not reaching unattainable goals. Lots of turnaround from constant layoffs. During my time there, I had a new manager about every year. No clear goals, and when they are clear they constantly shift. It is hard to grow salary wise within the company, especially when money is tight. You will be able to get more responsibilities and learn new skills, but don't expect your pay to reflect this. Lots of financial mismanagement within the company causing current R&D funding and operations to be barely present.
