Salary is low in comparison to other project manager position and work load is high. They are extremely understaffed in every department. As a PM you feel like the punching bag for your clients because other departments are so backlogged nothing gets done on time and there is nothing that you can do as a PM but continuously get yelled at by sponsors for things that are completely out of your control. Other departments won't even let you email them directly which is a huge handicap. It is an extremely frustrating job and doesn't seem like its going to get better any time soon.
